DOUBLE BOUNCE
—2025 Solo Exhibition

‘DOUBLE BOUNCE’
2025
Acrylic on cotton/linen, acrylic on 638gsm archival standard watercolour paper, glazed stoneware ceramics. Various sizes. Hand painted, hand formed.

Like two friends on a trampoline propelling each other higher and higher, Double Bounce explores the sensation of feeling both heavy and weightless, peaked with a moment of joy. This series represents that suspended nervousness that turns into a thrill as you launch back up. Double Bounce is a playful exchange between space and tension, an invitation to be enveloped in moments of displacement and discovery.
Double Bounce is my first solo exhibition and a leap into unfamiliar territory. I’m a self-confessed perfectionist but I find it thrilling to take the scarier, more chaotic unknown route. For this series, I tried to think of the very first time I felt this gut feeling. And it took me back to being a kid, running over to my neighbours house to play on her trampoline. I remember being double bounced for the first time and I was so scared. But then I asked her to do it again and again, to get higher and higher.
I really liked that my first memory of this scary feeling was earmarked by something so freeing and joyful.
